The International Chair in Trustworthy AI and Demographic Challenge (DemIA) presents the Computational Logic for Everyone course, a free online training program available on the e4you platform.
The training, like the Chair itself, is coordinated by the BISITE Research Group and funded by the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. DemIA addresses challenges such as depopulation, aging, and territorial inequality from a technological, ethical, and people-centered perspective.
The course is designed for all profiles interested in being introduced to computational logic and who need to become familiar with how a computer works for today's applications.
The course is structured into five fundamental blocks:
- Module 1: Introduction to Computational Logic.
- Module 2: Fundamentals of Digital Electronics.
- Module 3: Combinational Logic.
- Module 4: Sequential Logic.
- Module 5: State Machines
Course competencies:
Upon completion, the student will be able to:
- Understand the fundamentals of computational logic in order to interpret the basic operation of digital systems and their application in modern computing.
- Analyze the principles of digital electronics in the representation, manipulation, and processing of binary information.
- Design combinational logic circuits using logic gates and simplification methods to solve basic computational problems.
- Interpret sequential logic systems, considering the use of memory, flip-flops, and timing in the behavior of digital circuits.
- Understand state machines as the basis for the operation of complex digital systems and control in computing devices.
